A Season of Holy Days & Santa Claus: Archetype of Prosperity
The holiday season is here and Americans are frantically shopping, dropping, and wrapping. Society says ’tis the season to be jolly; I say ’tis the season to be conscious. You can buy into holiday hype of buying and partying, or you can tune into the higher vibrations that these holy days are truly about.
Chanukah is the festival of lights; Kwaanza is a remembrance of God’s harvest; and Christmas commemorates the Messiah’s birth. My holiday coaching for Jews: See the lit menorah as your inner light that never goes out. For African-Americans: see life itself as a gift from God. For Christians: Remember Jesus as the embodiment of the Christ Consciousness that’s waiting to be reborn in you. And the next time you pass Santa Claus on the street, see him as Prosperity personified, a colorful symbol of God’s infinite generosity.
Santa as Prosperity Archetype
December 25th is the day that hundreds of millions of Christians around the world celebrate the birth of their messianic Redeemer. It’s also the day that millions of secular Christians, throughout the planet, also celebrate the generosity of their mythic Rewarder. He’s the bearded jolly chap known as St. Nicholas or Santa Claus (Sint Klaas as the Dutch settlers called him in Holland). I like to think of him as the quintessential archetype for prosperity. When the real estate market is depressed, and stock market fluctuations can be so commonplace that you may be losing sleep over your dwindling net worth, a symbol of abundance like Santa is vital to our national health.
Known as the patron saint of giving, Santa Claus might more aptly be known as the patron saint of rapid transit. Why, he’s such a veritable master of bilocation that the advanced yogis with all their sidhis (or powers) have nothing on him. In December, you’ll spot him at Central Park in Fredericksburg, at the same moment your friends spot him at the Stafford Marketplace in Stafford, while others insist he’s also at the Potomac Mills in Woodbridge. Bilocation, shmilocation… Superman may be fast, but Santa is downright omnipresent.
When I was a small boy, my Uncle Dave was vital to my boyish health. A personification of prosperity, he used to give me the silver dollars he pulled out of my ears with his “magic.” It sure seemed like magic to me. But while Dave had his limits, Santa doesn’t seem to have any, as far as I can tell. His huge sack full of wrapped goodies is a veritable storehouse of God’s infinite generosity.
God’s generosity also spilled over into the miracles that Christ was said to have done. He was said to feed hundreds of adults and kids with a couple of fish and a few loaves of bread. Santa Claus, for his part, serves hundreds of kids from just one sack. Christ, we’re told, walked on water; Santa sleds his way over the rooftops of the world. Christ was credited with helping wedding party guests by turning water into wine; Santa elicits laughter from whiners. Christ said that you must be as innocent as a child to enter the Kingdom of Heaven; Santa shares treats from the kingdom with the innocent ones.
Perhaps St. Nick’s miraculous feats of “sharing-do” are powered by the ever-present mantra he chants–“Ho-ho-ho.” Is this an ancient mantra from China or an esoteric meditation from the North Pole? That’s because that ringing bell of his sounds more at home in Tibet than it does at his snowy digs at the top of the world.
While the birth of Jesus inspires love and hope, the girth of St. Nicholas inspires abundance. A bumper sticker I’ve seen, from time to time, reads, “Keep Christ in Christmas.” In December’s endless flashing neon lights, shopping lines, and out-of-control credit cards, this impassioned plea for reducing commercialism and awakening spirituality is sage advice. But let’s not forego the wrappings and trappings of a saint like Nick; after all, he plays far too an important role in our culture as our national symbol of prosperity. Christ and Santa can, in fact, co-exist. After all, our political leaders forever spout what they both embody: peace and prosperity. Perhaps we just need to re-think our other holiday symbols like Frosty the Snowman. What the heck is he doing on our lawns next to Christ and Saint Nick?
As I once told students in a prosperity class that I gave near the nation’s capital in Alexandria, “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus.”
Want to Write a Book?
New Publishing Venture Set up for You to Fulfill that Dream
How would you like to have your own book published and available on Amazon? That dream can now become a reality, with the help of on-demand publishing technology, and the writing, editing, graphic design, and marketing and public relations team that I’ve put in place for that very purpose.
Here’s the team that’s set up for you:
A graphic designer who has worked for Disney World, Harley Davidson, and Touchstone Pictures, among other credits. She’s also a complete joy to work with, as I can attest–she was the designer on my most recent book, 40 Days to a Happy Life.
A writer/editor who’s been a columnist for The Motley Fool, the editor-in-chief for Mortgageloan.com, Completegrowth.com, and Creditland.com, who has edited five books and was the ghost writer on one. She also wrote for such Fortune 500 companies as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, Prudential, and the Hartford, among others.
Also on the team as a writer is yours truly. I’ve written five full-length books and more than three dozen mini-books.
The venture’s book publicist has helped authors make the best-seller lists of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and has had her clients featured on Oprah, The Today Show, Good Morning, America, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, Forbes, NPR, Redbook, and Ladies’ Home Journal, among others. She’s worked for such authors as Jack Canfield and Jacqueline Miller, Heart at Work (McGraw-Hill); Terri Orbuch, 5 Simple Steps to Take Your Marriage from Good to Great (Random House); Sophy Burnham, The Path of Prayer: Reflections on Prayer and True Stories of How It Affects Our Lives (Viking Penguin); and Charles Garfield, Susun Weed, Gerald Celente, and Drs. Susan Lark, Ro Brock, and Stephen Sinatra, among others, and for authors who’ve been published by virtually every major publishing house in America.
If you’d like to talk about how you can have a dream come true and have your own book or mini-book in print, and would either like to write it or have someone ghost write it for you, don’t hesitate to:
call at (954) 788-3380,
or email me at successaerobics@aol.com .
We’re here to make that dream of yours come true.
Blog Cabin
I have my site set up properly, and I’ve begun to write regularly. If you would like to have my blog entries emailed to you, there’s a place on my website where you can enter your email address: http://carybayer.com/blog/.html
Face to Face to Facebook
With the Internet being a much faster means of transport than the Interstate highways I find myself on each month, the World Wide Web is, like rock ‘n’ roll, here to stay, and presumably, also will never die. That being the case, I’ve recently created two pages on Facebook that can help you create breakthroughs in a variety of ways. The pages are called:
Cary Bayer Breakthrough Coaching
You can easily subscribe to the service by clicking the Like button on top of the page at http://www.facebook.com/BreakthroughCoaching
And
Business Coaching for Massage Therapists
You can easily subscribe to the service by clicking the Like button on top of the page at http://www.facebook.com/BusinessCoachingForLMTs
Why the latter? Because, these handy (pun intended) healers comprise the largest percentage of my coaching client population. So check your Facebook walls and let me know what you think about my posts.
By the way, if you’re not yet a fan of either page, you can join up easily at either of the addresses above.
Referral Fees
When I ran my own marketing/PR firm, I loved thanking anyone who referred a new client to me, by sending a check for 10 percent of the fees generated. I have a similar policy as a life coach, a meditation teacher, and the writer of books for others. If you inspire someone to become a client of mine for coaching or book writing, or a meditation student, you’ll receive 10 percent of the fee that that person begins with me at. That could easily mean a check for you of $105 or $65 for coaching, for $50 for meditation, and hundreds of dollars for book publishing. It’s my way of saying, “thanks.” My thought is simple–who couldn’t use a piece of unexpected income?
