Webinar to Double the Size of your  Healing Arts Business

If you're a healer who earns less than the massage therapist's average of $35,000 per year, there's a new webinar that can help you expand your business called,

"How to Communicate Effectively to Expand

your Healing Arts Business."

This 4-CE program is certified by the NCBTMB and CE Broker in Florida. As the marketing coach for more than 300 massage therapists and dozens of other alternative healers, the keynote speaker at the AMTA's national convention, I'll gently guide you through the ins and outs of creating a quantum increase in your healing arts income. You'll learn in the comfort of your own home with a phone and a computer screen (if you'd like to enjoy the PowerPoint slides).

The class will run on Thursday April 16 and Fridays April 24 and May 1 and 8 from 8:30-9:30 PM Eastern time. All sessions will be recorded and can be played back at a later date at your convenience.

This highly interactive workshop teaches specific communications techniques to empower your healing arts business. You'll learn:

  • how to speak to prospective clients and inspire them to see you
  • how to speak to clients to inspire them to see you more frequently
  • how to master "Tele-connecting," the art of using the phone to inspire ex-clients back to your practice, and transform irregular clients into regular ones
  • how to transform the Compliment Rejection Complex that blocks you from receiving the appreciation of others, by learning the 2-minute Acknowledgment Meditation technique that builds self-worth, the basis for building net worth.
  • how to listen consciously so that people feel really heard and in closer rapport with you
  • how to broach sensitive and uncomfortable topics with clients such as raising fees and cancellation policies

This class cost $120 in the past, but is being priced now for just $49.99, a saving of more than $70, if payment is received by March 29. It inches up to just $59.99, if payment is received by April 5, a saving of more than $60. The price becomes $69.99 after that–still a saving of more than $50.

A Business and Life Coach in Florida and New York, I've worked with Oscar-winners Alan Arkin (Little Miss Sunshine) and Pietro Scalia (JFK, Black Hawk Down), Emmy-winners comic/director David Steinberg (Academy Awards presentations), Judy Henderson (Homeland), and Quality Inns. Before becoming a Life Coach, I ran my own communications firm for 18 years.

I also write regular columns on communication, marketing, coaching, and success for Massage Today and for massage publications in 14 states. In my private practice, I've coached more than 300 massage therapists, wrote the full-length book trilogy Grow a Rich Massage Business, and created two DVDs specifically for massage therapists about the business of succeeding in their field. One of those DVDs has been translated and marketed in Japan.

New Class:  "Literary Yoga:  Whitman & Salinger  as Writers/Seers"

After presenting the "Literary Yoga: Whitman & Salinger as Writers/Seers" as a webinar with my partner, Phil Goldberg, author of the wonderful book, American Veda (Random House), I'm now giving the program by myself in person, as well.  And it's being debuted on April 23 in Hollywood, FL at the Center for Human Development.  (See class schedule at left.)  Below is a description of this class on my longtime favorite poet and favorite novelist.

They were not just literary geniuses; they were gurus.  They did not just create extraordinary poems and stories; they transmitted universal spiritual wisdom.

Walt Whitman, in the 19th century, and J.D. Salinger, a century later, were New York writers who perceived the sacred essence at the mystical center of every human life. In seeking the Infinite, they pointed us to it. In expanding their consciousness, they expanded ours.

Awakened to the Transcendent Self within, Whitman had powerful glimpses of the One Spirit that pervades the universe. This awareness, coupled with his love of "comrades," enabled his poetry to be, as one critic dubbed it, "a remarkable mixture of the Bhagavad Gita and the New York Herald." His poetic chants of direct expressions of the Divine can awaken it in us as well, because he and we share that same infinite Self.

Salinger was deeply touched by the spiritual teachings of India.  A Yoga practitioner of the Vedantic school, he felt a strong impulse to share his insights with his post-World War II peers, urging them to turn away from the shallow, phony concerns of the world and embrace the eternal quest for spiritual depth.   Through his characters, he brilliantly explored the challenges of pursuing that quest in the modern world.

In varying degrees, both writers tasted the joys of an expanded mind and heart and delighted in describing them.  Both have vital lessons for us as we integrate our spiritual values with our worldly concerns.

Product Profile  "Follow your Yellow Brick Road" Class CD

In this workshop, you'll learn a "Yellow Brick Road"–a series of daily inner exercises inspired by The

Wizard of Oz–that returns you to your true "home," your Higher Self, or inner Spirit within. It awakens valuable qualities for your inner journey: courage, desperately sought by the Cowardly Lion; compassion, which the Tin Man sought; and wisdom, the Scarecrow's longing. These essential qualities are awakened through one-on-one verbal dyads and journaling. In a delightful and fun way, this workshop provides tools to help make the dreams that you dare to dream come true.

The CD is 2 hours and 7 minutes long, and costs $25, plus $3 for shipping & handling. You can order it directly at

Syndicated "Life 101" Column

This column of mine below ran in syndication in a variety of wellness publications, including Arizona Together in the recent past.

200% of Life

People talk about giving 100 percent effort; some even 150 percent. Now, I'll talk about two hundred percent. Maharishi Mahesh Yogi described the full embodiment of 200 percent of life as the enlightened millionaire. Buckminster Fuller said there were enough resources for everyone to live as a millionaire.

Living in south Florida and in Woodstock, New York, I've observed people focusing on one polarity or the other. In Woodstock, '60s values live; many people are committed to spiritual development. Many don't make or have much money, and don't worry about it. Their net worth is low, their self-worth high.

In south Florida, many people are successful materially. They have and make lots of money, (if they're not retired), but many worry about money, especially if many assets are in stocks. Some monitor investments several times daily, with moods rising and falling with their stocks' prices. Many don't realize that spiritual attainment exists; consequently, don't put attention there. Many have high net worth, but low self-worth. Coaching them, I've seen how they value themselves by how rich they are or what designer and expensive possessions they've amassed.

A current materialistic maxim goes, "He who dies with the most toys wins." A spiritual adaptation might say, "He who lives with the most consciousness, who has realized his higher Self, wins the Game of Life."

But that's not the prevailing cultural belief. Accumulating trinkets has become more important than accumulating wisdom. To update Jesus' question, we might ask: "What does it profit a woman to gain a Louis Vuitton pocketbook and lose her soul?" TV networks air real housewives; none air real gurus. They show anxious, conflict-creating materialists, but not peaceful, harmony-creating spiritual people.

To live Maharishi's 200 percent of life, spiritual people need more money, and larger amounts in their retirement accounts; some need to create retirement accounts. Many dress slovenly, focusing more on the unseen than the seen; with first impressions long-lasting, more opportunities could open with a more attractive exterior life.

Materialists need spiritual peace. Many think that peace comes from having enough "money in the bank"–or stocks, bonds, and real estate. Materialists, concerned with what's seen rather than what's not, are concerned with their appearance; they'd find more happiness if they developed an attractive interior life.

It's over-simplification that Woodstockers are spiritual and south Floridians are materialistic. Many Woodstockers are materialistic, and many Floridians, who've been coaching clients and students in my classes are deeply spiritual, not at all materialistic.

East and West are Meeting

An expression that thwarts 200 percent living goes: "East is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet." East and west meet daily: Yoga studios are all over the Western world, as are Toyotas. Go east, and you'll find Hollywood movies and designer Italian clothes.

In the same way that cake is for having and eating, money is for having (and spending) and enlightenment is for enjoying. And life is fully lived when both are present.

Meditation Training Now Available  by Skype & Webcam

When I taught Transcendental Meditation for several decades, I could only teach it in person. But since founding Higher Self Healing Meditation in 2010, I'm happy to say that the training is now available from a distance if you have a webcam on your computer. Let me know if you'd like to take advantage of this valuable stress-reducing method, even if you live far from my homes in upstate New York or south Florida.

Higher Self Healing Meditation

I'm proud to announce the development of a new meditation training that's been marinating in the quietest levels of consciousness deep within my soul for a number of years. Its name is Higher Self Healing Meditation, and it's as effortless as Transcendental Meditation (TM) that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi trained me to teach when I was 20 years old.

Some years back, the movement that teaches the late Maharishi's system of TM significantly changed the requirements for those who had been teaching to continue to do so. As a result, thousands of others, including myself, no longer instruct that method. But understanding the mechanics of how the mind transcends in meditation after teaching meditation to so many hundreds of people from southern California and Western Europe to the Caribbean and many points in between-as well as training dozens of teachers of Transcendental Meditation–I've developed a system of meditation that's as effective as TM, as easy as TM, and available at one third the price that it costs to learn TM.

Have you thought about incorporating a daily stress-management system to:

release deep-rooted tension,

increase energy,

stimulate creativity,

enliven happiness, and

enable you to contact the inexhaustible reservoir of creativity and intelligence deep within you at the transcendental level of Being?

If so, let me know, and I can explain how easy it is to learn over the course of five hours in three consecutive days.

With the Internet being a much faster means of transport than the Interstate highways I find myself on each month, the World Wide Web is, like rock 'n' roll, here to stay, and presumably, also will never die. That being the case, I've recently created two pages on Facebook that can help you create breakthroughs in a variety of ways. The pages are called:
