Free Advanced Monthly Meditation Webinar

The advanced meditation webinars, held for those who meditate, start with me opening the “floor” to questions about your meditation practice and/or understanding of the path of evolution of consciousness. Then, I’ll do a group meditation check. After that, I’ll direct you to a link for a talk by Maharishi, which each meditator can play on his or her computer. Lastly, I’ll take questions, and lead a discussion about the video.

Here’s the dial-in number for it:

(712) 432-0075

You’ll then be asked for a participant code, which is

370690

and the pound sign (#)

If you’re in front of a computer, when the time is right you can watch the video that we’ll discuss afterwards.  Here’s the link to that video. The May/June schedule follows below:

Advanced Meditation Technique Available

The basic course in Higher Self Healing Meditation is easy to learn and even easier to practice; so, too, are advanced techniques, which you can learn, that accelerate your practice. The second technique, for example, expands the benefits of your daily meditation by opening awareness to the most refined levels of inner silence. Think of it as a fertilizer to speed up your growth. This second technique also improves the mind’s ability to cognize thought at more refined levels so that action can be strengthened, increasing your ability to achieve your goals, and thereby grow in fulfillment. This happens naturally and leads to improvements in all areas of life–physical, mental, and spiritual.

Once you’ve practiced meditation for at least a year, you’re ready to learn your next technique. The cost for this advanced method is half of the cost of the first: $250. What’s more, it can also be learned via Skype and a webcam.

If you’d like to enjoy the benefits that the second technique provides, email me at successaerobics@aol.com or call (954) 788-3380.

Meditation Retreats

A number of meditators have expressed interest in deepening their experience with meditation. Toward that end, I created a one-day retreat called

“A Retreat into Peace, an Advance in Knowledge.”

It provides a day of profound rest, renewal, and healing, in which you get a chance to take another big step toward Enlightenment. Instead of your usual twice-a-day daily meditations, you’ll get to meditate and rest for four hours in a safe and appropriate environment. The deeper experience is complemented by profound knowledge through videos and discussion. What follows is a quote from a meditator who’s hosted many such retreats.

“I have found that meditation reduces my stress, and increases my energy, focus, and capacity for joy. Attending a full-day meditation retreat is always a day of profound rest and renewal. It is hard to describe the feelings of deep peace and contentment that follow the experience. Thank you Cary for making it all possible.”

Article: Go Mantra, & Leave the Transcending to Us

“Go Greyhound, and leave the driving to us.”

–Greyhound ad campaign launched, 1956

Nature always accomplishes everything with as little effort as possible.”See how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor or spin,” Christ told his followers (Matthew 6:28) about nineteen hundred and twenty-five years before Greyhound hit our airwaves with their message. Not only do “fish gotta swim and birds gotta fly,” as Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein, II wrote in “Showboat,” but they do so effortlessly. Birds certainly have bird brains, but they’re not stupid: they know to avoid frigid winters, so they take to the skies and spend several months on tropical beaches. And when those fish gotta swim, they do so with the current, not against it.

Maharishi, with whom I studied for years, eloquently said, “Do less and accomplish more.” In other words, behave in accordance with Nature, so you’re in the flow, and don’t waste energy.

Geometry teaches that the shortest distance between two points is a straight line–there’s no dillydallying between points A and B. Going any other way wastes energy, and Nature doesn’t do that; it goes straight to the point–B, in this case.

The 18th century French mathematician Pierre Louis Maupertuis, who formulated the principle of least action, wrote, “Nature is thrifty in all its actions.” He applied the principle broadly, stating that animals move, and vegetables grow in such a manner.

The century before, the Frenchman Pierre de Fermat, credited with planting the seeds that led to infinitesimal calculus, discovered that “light travels between two given points along the path of shortest time.” This is known as the principle of least time, or Fermat’s principle.

Euclid, the Greek mathematician, observed some 1,900 years before that, in his Catoptrica, that the angle of incidence of light equals the angle of reflection; in other words, it reflects back in the shortest way possible. Not long after the birth of Christ, Hero of Alexandria demonstrated that any other path that light could travel would involve more effort and take more time. In other words, the Alexandrian was a hero, proving that Euclid’s theory was correct.

In Higher Self Healing Meditation, Nature naturally takes the simplest course possible. (Can Nature do anything other than naturally?); in this case, from the conscious thinking level of the mind to the unboundedness of the Transcendent. That’s because the shift from the third state of consciousness (waking) to the fourth state of consciousness (transcendental consciousness) takes the same simplest course that Nature takes when it shifts us from waking to sleeping, sleeping to dreaming, and from sleeping back to waking.   It’s the only way Nature knows.

The good news about the mind is that, beneath the surface conscious thinking level lays quieter, more peaceful, blissful areas heretofore not experienced. If the mind is given a whiff of this delight, it will head for it in a New York minute. And it will do so without a bit of effort.

All New Transcendental Coaching Launched

As many of you know, two of the greatest passions in my career are teaching meditation and coaching.  And now the two have come together in a brand new method.  Let me explain.

The Higher Self Healing Meditation that I founded in 2010, after teaching Transcendental Meditation for decades and training dozens of its teachers, can give you the experience of the Transcendent, the inner Being within you.  When you combine the experience of the Transcendent with an advanced form of coaching you get my newest offering-Transcendental Coaching.

What makes Transcendental Coaching unique is that it draws upon mankind’s ancient timeless wisdom-from the Hebrews, Jesus, Buddha, Lao Tzu, the Vedas of India, and the native Americans of our own continent–to help coach you into the life that you were truly born to live.  It incorporates deep knowledge of the way that the Universe operates, so that your life can flow in tune with the Laws of Nature. Enjoy clarity for your mind, purity for your heart, prosperity for your net worth, and spirituality for your soul.  It takes into account the knowledge of Karma, the knowledge of Dharma (action in accordance with Cosmic Law), the knowledge of clearly defined higher states of consciousness, and an understanding of the nature of Enlightenment itself.  This helps bring your life increasingly in tune with Nature, and to live in freedom.

The result of this attunement is more frequent experience of synchronicities (being in the right place at the right time), less struggle, less resistance to the fulfillment of your desires, and an overall greater sense of your life as a delightful flow.

The prerequisites for Transcendental Coaching are the 3-day training in Higher Self Healing Meditation, and 10 hour-long coaching sessions.

To learn more about this extraordinary synthesis of meditation and coaching you can download the brochure here.

Meditation Training Available via Skype & Webcam!!

When I taught Transcendental Meditation for several decades, I could only teach it in person.  But since founding Higher Self Healing Meditation in 2010, I’m happy to say that the training is now available from a distance if you have a webcam on your computer.  Let me know if you’d like to take advantage of this valuable stress-reducing method, even if you live far from my homes in upstate New York and south Florida.

Want to Make Money from Meditation?

When I ran my own marketing/PR firm, I loved thanking anyone who referred a new client to me, by sending a check for 10 percent of the fees generated.  I have a similar policy as a meditation teacher.  If you inspire someone to become my student, you’ll receive 10 percent of the course fee. That means a check for you of $50 for caring enough about the people in your life that you’d like them to live with more freedom from stress.  It’s my way of saying, “thanks.”  My thought is simple–who couldn’t use a piece of unexpected income?

I also give you 20 percent of the revenues for any meditation course that you produce or sponsor for me. Sponsoring means finding a time and space for the free introductory lecture and the three days of hour-and-a half classes-it could be your own living room, if you like-and it can also be held on the Internet as a webinar. I would email you a flyer for the lecture, which you’d then email to the people in your life. If five people learn to meditate, for example, you would enjoy $500 for your work.

Testimonial on Coaching

"Cary is a wonderful coach who helped me through a difficult time several years ago. He knew what was best for me each time I had a session with him. I felt much encouragement and support from him and I saw the results quickly. I would strongly recommend his services to others. He has shown huge care, competency and courage in my coaching sessions. He listened beyond my words, was willing to guide me to uncomfortable areas that he thought might have value for me, then gave me the room to experience and learn in ways that have really 'stuck'. I will call upon him again and recommend him highly."–Walter Pustilnik, Project Manager, Reading, PA

This column of mine below ran in syndication in a variety of wellness publications, including Arizona Together in the recent past.

The Seeker in the Rye: Salinger's Literary Yoga

When I was 14, I read The Catcher in the Rye. It immediately became my favorite novel. J.D. Salinger also immediately became my favorite novelist. Three years after reading him, I began Transcendental Meditation; two years after that I read his spiritual novel, Franny and Zooey. I then realized that Catcher's comic spirit, expanded to become Franny's cosmic spirit. The Salinger of Catcher spoke to the teenage rebellion of 14-year-olds, Franny spoke to the spiritual aspirations of meditators–and meditation teachers like myself.

War & Inner Peace

Salinger returned from World War II with what we now call PTSD. Perhaps to alleviate that stress, he turned to Zen and Catholic mysticism in 1946. The latter might have inspired Zooey to tell Franny that "…who in the Bible besides Jesus knew-knew-that we're carrying the Kingdom of Heaven around with us, inside, where we're all too goddamn stupid and sentimental and unimaginative to look?… Jesus was a supreme adept, by God, on a terribly important mission."

In 1952, the year after Catcher's publication, Salinger became involved with the Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Center in Manhattan, run by Swami Nikhilananda, author of The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna, which took Salinger's breath away. This began a lifelong study of India's Vedantic wisdom. When Franny was published in 1961, Salinger sent a copy to the swami; his inscription, said that, through stories like it, the author could propagate Vedanta. This could put a dent in the phoniness and illusion of the world that Holden Caulfield in Catcher detested; what yogis call maya.

Enlivened by Vedanta, Salinger soon published the short story "Teddy," about a spiritually awakened adolescent who, at six saw his sister drinking milk, and  "I saw that she was God and the milk was God. I mean all she was doing was pouring God into God if you know what I mean." This was one of many Salinger paeans to the lost innocence of children, who he thought were closer to God because society hadn't yet defiled them.

The year after "Teddy" was published, Salinger read Paramahansa Yogananda's Autobiography of a Yogi, and realized that householders could also get enlightened. So he married, and he and his wife became members of the swami's Self Realization Fellowship.

With Catcher's success, Salinger struggled with paradox: he'd achieved the recognition that he craved, yet hated the side effects. He wanted to be detached from the "fruits of action," which he learned about in the Bhagavad Gita, so he resisted fame and shunned commercialism.

After 1965, he ceased publishing; the world was denied any work he might have produced in his last 45 years as a semi-recluse in New Hampshire. A few years after his death in 2010, rumors surfaced that five more pieces of writing from those 45-years will be published, including more Vedantic wisdom.  If true, Salinger, the writer, demonstrated that he could write without attachment to the fruits of his writing.  Salinger, the writer, would become Salinger, the yogi.

Higher Self Healing Meditation

I'm proud to announce the development of a new meditation training that's been marinating in the quietest levels of consciousness deep within my soul for a number of years. Its name is Higher Self Healing Meditation, and it's as effortless as Transcendental Meditation (TM) that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi trained me to teach when I was 20 years old.

Some years back, the movement that teaches the late Maharishi's system of TM significantly changed the requirements for those who had been teaching to continue to do so. As a result, thousands of others, including myself, no longer instruct that method. But understanding the mechanics of how the mind transcends in meditation after teaching meditation to so many hundreds of people from southern California and Western Europe to the Caribbean and many points in between-as well as training dozens of teachers of Transcendental Meditation–I've developed a system of meditation that's as effective as TM, as easy as TM, and available at one third the price that it costs to learn TM.

Have you thought about incorporating a daily stress-management system to:

  • release deep-rooted tension,
  • increase energy,
  • stimulate creativity,
  • enliven happiness, and
  • enable you to contact the inexhaustible reservoir of creativity and intelligence deep within you at the transcendental level of Being?

If so, let me know, and I can explain how easy it is to learn over the course of five hours in three consecutive days.
