- A proven powerful plan that will regularly drive a line of referrals to your door

The Yoga of Entertainment: Higher Consciousness in Pop Culture
Considering that I’ve been a meditation teacher since the age of 20, a full-time life coach since 2001, a former columnist for the National Lampoon, a stand-up comic, an actor in a comedy group that I founded, a poet, a songwriter, and a movie and theater critic, it amazes me that I’ve written a dozen books before The Yoga of Entertainment: Higher Consciousness in Pop Culture. This volume reveals the higher consciousness depicted in popular culture art forms, many of which I’ve been passionately devoted to for most of my life. The book is divided into five different artistic categories: television, motion pictures, music, comedy, and comic books.
The 200-page book sells for $20 plus $3 for S&H. Through June 30, you can get it for $16 plus S&H. You can order the book by calling me at (845) 664-1883, or emailing me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t purchase it on the website, as the shopping cart doesn’t have the discount built in.
To celebrate May, the month of my birthday (the 22nd for those keeping score at home), I’m offering a complimentary half-hour coaching session for the first person who contacts me by phone (845-664-1883), or by email at email@example.com who want to have some breakthroughs in his or her life. It’s my way of giving thanks for the great life that I’m blessed to live. There are only four restrictions, but please read them carefully:
1) You haven’t already received a free coaching session from me.
2) You’re not currently involved in a series of coaching sessions with me.
3) You book the session within three days of winning, so if you call or email, check my response and respond in time. If you forget to do this, someone on the waiting list will take your place, as happens from time to time.
4) You take the session before May 15.
Here is an affirmation from my series on procrastination, success, relationships, communication, and the inner journey, which are available in five ebooks and three CDs.
“My life is an unfolding adventure.”

Quote about an Expert
His cinematic output has grossed more than $9 billion and brought him three Academy Awards, but the master of the blockbuster was rejected TWICE by the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. As their way of saying “Oops, I guess we were wrong about you,” the school built a building in honor of Steven Spielberg.
Quote of the Month
“Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you what you are.”
“Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakens.”
The United Arab Emirates has named Ohood bint Khalfan Roumi to be its Minister of Happiness, with the mission to promote happiness and a positive attitude in government and life. Seeing it as government’s role to help make people become happier, she introduced a “100 days of positivity” campaign, in which people took a pledge to practice positive behavior.
The Cosmic & The Comic
“When it comes to God’s existence, I’m not an atheist and I’m not an agnostic. I’m an acrostic: the whole thing puzzles me.”
The average adult takes over 20,000 breaths a day.
Testimonial on Coaching
“Since doing success and money work with Cary my income has more than doubled, and it’s been a great adventure–playing in the greatest cities of the world. I’m 60 now, and that’s old in the music business, but I’m doing what I love, getting paid really well and seeing the whole world. Only a handful of guys are privileged enough to be able to do that.
“When I started working with Cary in 1990, I often commuted 2 hours to Manhattan doing session work, jingles and film music. In 1992, I started performing with Steeley Dan and became music director for his concert tours in ’93. Two years later I became the keyboardist for Art Garfunkel’s tours. Prior to working with these bands the number of people I’d performed for live was in the low thousands. Now I’ve performed for more than four and a half million people. If I hadn’t done the work with Cary I might be selling washing machines today. I feel like Rip Van Winkle, waking up after 20 years of being totally asleep around money.”

The Poetry of TV Commercials
I was watching television last night and, during a break in my program, a commercial for the Volvo S90 appeared on the screen and then Josh Brolin, as the voiceover, began reciting lines from Walt Whitman’s great poem, “Song of the Open Road.” I recognized it instantly because it’s my second favorite poem by my favorite poet, Walt Whitman. How expansive to hear these words for a car commercial.
“Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,
Healthy, free, the world before me,
The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose…
The east and the west are mine, the north and the south are mine.”
…All seems beautiful to me.”
What a great way to open the minds of TV viewers. I just thought it would be nice if Volvo had credited Whitman. April, after all, is National Poetry Month. Later that night, it was poetry all over again–not Whitman, but Dylan Thomas’ “Do Not Go Gentle into that Good night.” Big Pharma quoted the poet who inspired Robert Zimmerman to change his name to Bob Dylan.
“Do not go gentle into that good night, Old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light…”
The one minute spot for the Americas Biopharmaceutical Companies went on:
“When an indomitable will to cure pushes researchers to find the unfindable and cure the incurable. Today’s breakthroughs become tomorrow’s medicines for all of us.” “Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world,” Percy Shelley wrote in his 1821 essay, “A Defence of Poetry.” It seems they’re becoming the unacknowledged pitchmen of advertising, too, as neither spot above credited the poet’s contribution to the commercial.
Neither did Waitrose, the British supermarket chain, which invoked Shelley’s good friend, John Keats, quoting at length his invocation of the Fall in his classic “Ode to Autumn.”
“Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless
With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;
To bend with apples the moss’d cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
…And still more, later flowers for the bees,
Until they think warm days will never cease,”
Apple was more acknowledging when they quoted the entire poem “Human Family,” by Maya Angelou. They had her read it in its entirety. Her words have even greater relevance to us now in these divided times.
“I note the obvious differences in the human family. Some of us are serious, some thrive on comedy. Some declare their lives are lived as true profundity, and others claim they really live the real reality. The variety of our skin tones can confuse, bemuse, delight, brown and pink and beige and purple, tan and blue and white. I’ve sailed upon the seven seas and stopped in every land, I’ve seen the wonders of the world not yet one common man. I know ten thousand women called Jane and Mary Jane, but I’ve not seen any two who really were the same. Mirror twins are different although their features jibe, and lovers think quite different thoughts while lying side by side. We love and lose in China, we weep on England’s moors, and laugh and moan in Guinea, and thrive on Spanish shores. We seek success in Finland, are born and die in Maine. In minor ways we differ, in major we’re the same. I note the obvious differences between each sort and type, but we are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike. We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike. We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.”
The one-minute ad ends with the words, “All images shot on iPhone.”
Shortly before his death, William Burroughs pitched for Nike. Posthumously, Shakespeare has been used by Coca-Cola, Marlboro, Mercedes-Benz, Levis, Stella Artois and Red Bull. All the marketing world is indeed a stage. F. Scott Fitzgerald was used by Calvin Klein for his Obsession perfume, presumably to show you how tender is the night with a dash of just the right scent. Jack Kerouac was employed by the Gap, who are certainly no dharma bums.
New Publishing Venture Set up for You to Fulfill that Dream
How would you like to have your own book published and available on Amazon? That dream can now become a reality, with the help of on-demand publishing technology, and the writing, editing, graphic design, and marketing and public relations team that I’ve put in place for that very purpose.
Here’s the team that’s set up for you:
- A graphic designer who has worked for Disney World, Harley Davidson, and Touchstone Pictures, among other credits. She’s also a complete joy to work with, as I can attest–she was the designer on my most recent book, 40 Days to a Happy Life.
- A writer/editor who’s been a columnist for The Motley Fool, the editor-in-chief for Mortgageloan.com, Completegrowth.com, and Creditland.com, who has edited five books and was the ghost writer on one. She also wrote for such Fortune 500 companies as Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, Charles Schwab, Prudential, and the Hartford, among others.
- Also on the team as a writer is yours truly. I’ve written five full-length books and more than three dozen mini-books.
The venture’s book publicist has helped authors make the best-seller lists of the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal, and has had her clients featured on Oprah, The Today Show, Good Morning, America, Time, Newsweek, Business Week, Forbes, NPR, Redbook, and Ladies’ Home Journal, among others. She’s worked for such authors as Jack Canfield and Jacqueline Miller, Heart at Work (McGraw-Hill); Terri Orbuch, 5 Simple Steps to Take Your Marriage from Good to Great (Random House); Sophy Burnham, The Path of Prayer: Reflections on Prayer and True Stories of How It Affects Our Lives (Viking Penguin); and Charles Garfield, Susun Weed, Gerald Celente, and Drs. Susan Lark, Ro Brock, and Stephen Sinatra, among others, and for authors who’ve been published by virtually every major publishing house in America.
If you’d like to talk about how you can have a dream come true and have your own book or mini-book in print, and would either like to write it or have someone ghost write it for you, don’t hesitate to call at (954) 788-3380, or email me at email@example.com. We’re here to make that dream of yours come true.
Higher Self Healing Meditation
I’m proud to announce the development of a new meditation training that’s been marinating in the quietest levels of consciousness deep within my soul for a number of years. Its name is Higher Self Healing Meditation, and it’s as effortless as Transcendental Meditation (TM) that Maharishi Mahesh Yogi trained me to teach when I was 20 years old.
Some years back, the movement that teaches the late Maharishi’s system of TM significantly changed the requirements for those who had been teaching to continue to do so. As a result, thousands of others, including myself, no longer instruct that method. But understanding the mechanics of how the mind transcends in meditation after teaching meditation to so many hundreds of people from southern California and Western Europe to the Caribbean and many points in between-as well as training dozens of teachers of Transcendental Meditation–I’ve developed a system of meditation that’s as effective as TM, as easy as TM, and available at one third the price that it costs to learn TM.
Have you thought about incorporating a daily stress-management system to:
- release deep-rooted tension,
- increase energy,
- stimulate creativity,
- enliven happiness, and
- enable you to contact the inexhaustible reservoir of creativity and intelligence deep within you at the transcendental level of Being?
If so, let me know, and I can explain how easy it is to learn over the course of five hours in three consecutive days. You can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (845) 679-5526.

When I ran my own marketing/PR firm, I loved thanking anyone who referred a new client to me, by sending a check for 10 percent of the fees generated. I have a similar policy as a life coach, a meditation teacher, and the writer of books for others. If you inspire someone to become a client of mine for coaching or book writing, or a meditation student, you’ll receive 10 percent of the fee that that person begins with me at. That could easily mean a check for you of $105 or $65 for coaching, for $50 for meditation, and hundreds of dollars for book publishing. It’s my way of saying, “thanks.” My thought is simple–who couldn’t use a piece of unexpected income?
